"Posture becomes perfect when the effort to attain it disappears, so that there are no more movements in the body. In the same way, its perfection is achieved when the mind is transformed into infinity-that is, when it makes the idea of it's infinity it's content"Yoga Sutra
Hot Yoga - is a detoxifying practice in a room heated up between 38-40°C. Expect to sweat a lot! Sweating is good as it helps get rid of toxins from your body. Heat warms the muscles and tendons thus allowing the body to become more flexible. This series of cardiovascular workout strengthens, tones, and stretches the muscles while calming the mind and reducing stress. Hot yoga is not recommended for pregnant women or those with high or low blood pressure. This class is suitable for beginners.
Hot Flow (Heated)- is combination of movements and breathing exercises focusing on alignment. The class involves smooth flowing vinyasa transitions from pose to pose. The heat in Flow Yoga is created from the "inside out" with the use of the ujjayi breath and energetic engagements of the inner body. Classes may form around a theme such as back bending, hip-opening, or forward folds, or a variety of postures may be combined to challenge and invigorate. This class is suitable for beginners.
Hatha (Non-Heated)- represents opposing energies: hot and cold (fire and water, following the same concept as the yin-yang), male and female, positive and negative. Hatha yoga attempts to balance mind and body via physical exercises, or "asanas", controlled breathing, and calming of the mind through relaxation and meditation.
Yin Yoga (Low Heat and Non-Heated) - is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine and applies long, passive holds to deeply penetrate the body's bones and connective tissue. This class is suitable for all levels of students.
Restorative Yoga - focuses on calming and well-supported poses aimed at relaxing and helping the body return to a calm and balanced state. Relaxation is a state where there is no movement, no effort, and the brain is quiet. In a restorative class, you will work with bolsters (cushions), blankets, straps, and eye pillows to put your body in highly supported yet subtly stretching positions which will allow your body to open and your mind to deeply relax.
Kid's Yoga- is a mix of breathing exercises and various fun poses to promote physical strength and flexibility, develop better body awareness, self-control and coordination. Children can carry these skills beyond classes and into their daily routines. This class is suitable for children ages 5 to 9. This is taught as a series of classes and requires pre-registration.
Prenatal Yoga - is a great way to train for and enhance the experience of pregnancy. The physical poses can help build strength and stamina and improve circulation. Meditation can improve the abilities to relax and to concentrate. Breathing exercises can help manage the pain of contractions. The class focuses on breathing exercises, meditation and yoga postures that will help you adapt to the physical and emotional changes that occur during pregnancy and childbirth. This class requires pre-registration.
